While testing my new camera three weeks ago I went for a nature walk along the river Isar in my hometown Munich. It is almost in the middle of the city but it surrounded by so much nature that it does not feel like "city life".
It is beautiful. Everytime I walk along the Isar it makes me happy. I hope I can make you happy just by looking at the photos.
The river Isar.
Prinzregentenstraße: In the distance there is the Frauenkirche, Munich's landmark. At the end of the Prinzregentenstraße street there is Haus der Kunst [House of Art],on the right side, where art exhibitions take place. The building, Haus der Kunst, was built during the Nazi regime in Germany and it was a big part of the Nazi architecture and propaganda. Huge exhibitions of disgusting Nazi art was displayed there. Today it is a venue for contemporary art exhibitions.
Park der Liebenden. This part of the park is called Park of Lovers.
Part of the Friedensengel (Angel of Peace). In the last photo you can see the Angel of Peace statue. The statue was built 25 years after the Franco-German war in 1870/71, as a reminder of 25 peaceful years.
Walking along the river.
A glimpse of the Bavarian Parliament.
